My real estate career started over 30 years ago, working as an agent and broker/partner in a multi-office company. In the years since then I have also been involved in construction, rehab projects, real estate investment and property management.

When you are buying a new home you need someone who knows the local area and its good and bad points!  You may also need help with arranging finance, inspections, repairs and remodeling.  I have contacts in all of those fields and I can help you to find the right home at the right price for you.  The process starts with an in-depth review of your needs, based on your family lifestyle, financial circumstances and your specific requirements for a home.  I can then find suitable properties meeting those criteria and show them to you…saving you having to look at homes that would not fit the bill.

The next stage includes advising you on price and negotiating strategy and presenting your offers to the sellers’ agent.  Once an offer is accepted, I will supervise the inspections and make sure that all of the activities involved in closing the deal are carried out in a timely manner, leading to a smooth completion of the purchase.

Preparing Your Home for Sale

Surveys indicate that the majority of buyers (about 90%) can’t visualize the home other than the way that they see it.   It is for this reason that home builders always furnish model homes, so that buyers can see for themselves what can be achieved and can picture themselves living in the home.  When you want to sell your home you need to make sure that you follow the same principle and make it easy for potential buyers to imagine living there.  This can be achieved by minimizing personal effects such as photographs, children artwork on the refrigerator, etc. – all of which make it your home, not theirs.  Similarly, religious items or hunting trophies can be off-putting to people who have different views.  In addition to de-personalizing and de-cluttering the home, you should consider making repairs, changing worn carpets and re-painting where necessary.  These thing can be the difference between a home languishing on the market or selling quickly for top dollar.
